The idea came to me when I found the perfect place for a gas station. I wrote out a plan that impressed banks, but I was denied because I, or anyone I knew, didn't have $100,000 down toward the loan. I then tried franchise opportunities but was also denied for similar reasons. Believe it or not, after all my efforts, a few short months later a gas station was built in the exact spot. I had a great idea that was turned down by the banks because I didn't meet their "necessary credentials"...
